Firm HistoryConsulting Services Group, LLC (CSG) is a Tennessee Limited Liability Company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. It began operations in 1988 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Furman, Selz, Mager, Dietz and Birney, Inc. and a member of the Xerox Financial Services Family. In 1990 the principals of CSG purchased the company from Furman through a newly formed limited partnership. In 1999 this partnership was converted to its current structure as a Limited Liability Company. In July 1999, CSG acquired Alternative Investment Strategies, LP (AIS) through an equity swap. In 2005 AIS was merged into CSG and now operates as the alternative consulting division of CSG. This division specializes in the non-traditional asset arena offering discretionary and non-discretionary advisement for alternative and other non-traditional assets. To meet the needs of its clients, CSG established Trading Services Group, Inc. (TSG) as a fully disclosed introducing broker. TSG does not carry any securities inventory, nor does it make individual stock recommendations. The business of TSG is to offer commission recapture services to CSG's clients. There is no requirement for clients to use TSG. The present ownership structure of CSG and its affiliate consists of two external partners who own approximately 52% of the firm, but are not active in the day-to-day business operations. Six employees own the remaining 48% of the firm and are active in the day-to-day management of the business and its client relationships. Our ownership is structured in a manner that does not impact our ability to provide our clients with independent and unbiased advice. |
